Lionel Messi's performance in Barcelona's 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Wednesday has been hailed by Jamie Redknapp.

The Barcelona star showed his class on the world stage by netting twice to ensure Barcelona put one foot in the final.

Messi gave the Catalan giants the lead in the 77th minute with a long-range shot at the near post and he doubled his tally three minutes later with a dazzling run before lobbing the onrushing Manuel Neuer.
