Sandro set for new contract

16.25: Chelsea's pursuit of Juventus left-back Alex Sandro looks no nearer to completion, with the Brazilian set to sign a new contract.

The 26-year-old would cost a world-record fee for a defender of around £60million, but Juventus do not want to let him leave.

"They're still interested in the Juventus left-back Alex Sandro," Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth said.

"Juve though are reluctant to sell and Sky in Italy have been reporting in the last month the Brazilian will sign an improved contract at the club."

Miazga loaned out

15:54: Chelsea have sent Matt Miazga out on loan.

Miazga, 22, will spend a second season at Dutch side Vitesse Arnheim.

The American has made two appearances at the Blues since arriving from New York Red Bulls 18 months ago.

Sanches prefers Milan - Sheth

15.15: Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches would prefer a move to AC Milan over Chelsea.

Milan are the favourites with the bookies to complete a deal for Sanches, with the Serie A giants having shown interest for the majority of the summer to date.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth reiterated that view and says Italy is his favoured destination.

"AC Milan remain favourites, they are Sanches' preferred destination and the Italian club have been negotiating for the past month," Sheth said on Sky Sports News.

Conte wants Sanches - Rummenigge

14:40: Bayern Munich have reportedly claimed Chelsea manager Antonio Conte made an enquiry about their midfielder Renato Sanches.

The German giants' chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says Conte expressed interest in Sanches after the clubs' friendly in Singapore on Tuesday.

There are at least 10 teams after Sanches," Rummenigge told Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Conte asked for some information about him after Tuesday's match because he knows he can make the difference in the middle of the pitch.

"The lad wants to play regularly but Ancelotti was pleased with his performance against Chelsea .

"We'll make our evaluations later but if he does leave then he almost certainly will go on loan. We're still counting on him."

Radja signs new deal

13:30: Sought-after midfielder Radja Nainggolan has signed a new four-year contract with Roma.

The 29-year-old Belgian, who had been linked to Chelsea and Manchester United, has committed to the Serie A club until June 30, 2021.

He said: ”I’ve shown that I always wanted to do this. I'm happy to be here."

Nainggolan moved to the Stadio Olimpico from Cagliari in January 2014 and has since made 161 appearances for the Giallorossi, scoring 27 goals.

Hands off Hazard - Conte

12:55: Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has issued a 'hands off' warning to Barcelona regarding Eden Hazard.

"He is very happy to stay with us and to play for Chelsea," Conte said.

"I don't know anything about this situation.

"In the past I read a lot of stories about Hazard with Real Madrid - and now Barcelona. This is the transfer market and we must understand this."

AC Milan hold preliminary Costa talks

11:50: AC Milan chairman Marco Fassone says he’s met with Diego Costa's agent.

Costa, 28, was told he would NOT feature in the club's plans next season with Atletico Madrid the favourites to secure his services.

But AC Milan could still mount a challenge.

Fassone revealed he met with Jorge Mendes to explore alternative options.

Asked about the Brazil-born Spain international, Fassone said: “I would prefer to avoid talking about players from other teams. Diego Costa is a great player, but a Chelsea player.

“We went to see Jorge Mendes; there is a lot you can talk to him about. Costa is a great player but he is of Chelsea. That's all."

Alonso’s ready to fight

10:50: Marcos Alonso is ready to fight Juventus left back Alex Sandro for a starting role - should Chelsea secure his signature.

Antonio Conte is determined to increase competition for places, with the Brazil international high on his transfer shortlist.

But Alonso says he would relish the challenge.

He said: “This is Chelsea. We play in four competitions this year, so many games and competition can only be good for me and for the team. That’s it.

"I will just keep training, keep improving, keep doing well for the team and keep fighting.”

Antonio Conte losing respect - Nicol

10:05: Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is losing the respect of his players and it is all his own fault, according to pundit Steve Nicol.

Nicol was disappointed in the way Conte treated striker Diego Costa this summer, and feels he wants total control and power of a dressing room.

"Some people call it fear but it's actually respect," Nicol said.

"Conte, in my opinion, had the dressing room covered, but he lost respect, particularly from Costa, because of the way he treated him.

"It's one thing to cry about not having the power, but it's a different ball game when you're the cause of all the unrest.

"When you're throwing a hand grenade in as the coach, because that's what Conte did when he sent a text to Diego Costa telling him he no longer needed him, he was asking for trouble.

"Yes, you need power but it comes from respect, but when any of your big players in particular lose respect for you, when you're the manager, the only thing you're going to get is trouble.

"His actions are causing players, particularly Costa, to lose respect for him."

Another loan on the horizon

09:00: Spartak Moscow are looking to sign Chelsea outcast Mario Pasalic, reports claim.

The Croatia international, who arrived in West London for £3million in 2014, has never made a senior appearance for Chelsea.

He’s spent the last three seasons on loan with Elche, Monaco and most recently AC Milan, where he scored five goals in 27 appearances.

And ABC de Sevilla claim he could be leaving on another season-long loan with Spartak Moscow or Real Betis, who are also interested.
